There are always one or two rooms at home with poor WiFi signal, so don't rush to spend money on Mesh. I drew a floor plan and walked around the five houses with my phone, recording the dBm numbers for each room. It was obvious whether the signal was blocked by load-bearing walls or refrigerators. Try the three zero-cost tricks first, then spend money if it really doesn't work. Don't reverse the order....
