Xiaomi AX3000T MESH network sometimes does not have Internet access

Problem description: I use 2 Xiaomi AX3000T at home and set up 1 mesh, but sometimes I find that the mobile phone will disconnect from the network when I swipe the video, and after restarting the router, it will be fine again. Moreover, the mesh function of the sub-route can only be set to automatic, and if it is set to wired, it cannot be networked.

problems may occur: 1. The firmware has a timing disconnection bug; 2. Wired Mesh pair connection order, network cable, switch, main route, optical cat; 3. The wireless backhaul is easy to interrupt when the channel is crowded.
complete the following 5 steps in order, you can basically pull the stability to the level of "being able to brush 5G videos normally" without having to restart every day.

  1. first upgrade to the latest "stable version" and then clear it again NVRAM
  • the Mijia App → route management → system upgrade, it was confirmed that both units were updated to versions after 1.1.12 (Xiaomi's revision log just launched in December wrote "Fix Mesh periodic network disconnection").
  • after the upgrade is completed, both units: Long press Reset 5 s → to factory restore → rebind. This step can clear all the remaining configurations, DHCP leases, and Mesh keys from the previous time, and many cases of "dropping once a week" are solved by this step.
  1. the "metaphysics" wiring method of wired mesh
AX3000T When doing sub-routing, the WAN port must be connected to the LAN of the main route and cannot be plugged in backwards. If you pass through a switch in the middle, it must be a "fool switch" and the VLAN is not on the flow control.
    correct order:
main route LAN - → network cable - → switch (optional) - → subroute WAN
Let the subroute be automatically networked successfully in the wireless state, and then plug in the network cable when you see "subroute online", and the light turns blue around 10 seconds, which means that the wired backhaul has been cut.
if you plug in the network cable first and then turn it on, the 100% yellow light is a bug in the boot logic of AX3000T, and it can only recognize the uplink once.
  2. turn off Dual-Band in Combination + manually lock the channel to the 5G
  • Mijia → Wi-Fi Settings → Turn off "Dual-Band in One" to keep 2.4 G and 5G separate.
  • 5 G channel manually selects 44 or 48, with a bandwidth of 80 MHz, avoiding radar segments above 149; 160 MHz will permanently retreat as long as the radar is detected once on the AX3000T, and the folk summary is that "turning on 160 is more stuck".
  • 2.4G uses 1/6/11 with a bandwidth of 20 MHz, which is dedicated to IoT devices, and mobile phones only need to be connected to 5G.
  1. adjustment DHCP
change the rental period to 2 hours, so that the phone can re-take the address after staying overnight, so that the lease will not accumulate garbage, and it can also avoid the ghost cycle of "getting IP".
  2. Scheduled restart + heat dissipation
AX3000T uses MediaTek MT7981, memory leaks will occur at high temperatures or continuous high throughput for more than 7 days, and the official community also admits that "it is recommended to restart once a week".
Mijia → Smart Scene → Create a new "scheduled restart": Restart the main route at 04:00 every Monday and restart the child route at 04:05.
also put the sub-route upright, do not plug it in the weak current box, and the temperature drop of 5 °C can significantly reduce the instantaneous interruption.

after completing the above 5 steps, 99% of "swiping videos suddenly spinning in circles" can be solved. If there is still an occasional disconnection, replace the network cable between the two units with more than five categories, cut off the crystal head and press it again, the wrong line order will also lead to the failure of gigabit negotiation, and it will be directly returned to 100 M with an error reported by CRC, which is "the signal is full but cannot be connected to the network".

Xiaomi AX3000T networking does have pitfalls, especially the wireless backhaul is easy to break. After upgrading the firmware and resetting, it is much more stable, but you also have to pay attention to the wiring order of the wired connection, otherwise it is impossible to network at all, which is really a headache.
