What should I do if I can't open or enter Xiaomi router 192.168.31.1? I helped the three families check and found ninety percent of them stuck in the first two steps

mother-in-law got a new phone and tried to access the router's backend to copy the WiFi password. She entered 192.168.31.1 and tried for a long time, but the page wouldn't open. WeChat asked me, 'Is the router broken?' I ran over and got it done in five minutes—she was connected to the neighbor's WiFi with the same name downstairs. Later, I helped my colleague and cousin each with one more trip. After three different pitfalls, I decided to write down the inspection order. Xiaomi's background app can't be opened, 90% of it is stuck in the first two steps, and the number of times it really needs to reset is counted on one hand.
first figure out which type can't be opened, and don't try randomly right away
the phrase "can't open" actually refers to three completely different diseases. Spend ten seconds triaging first, and the path ahead won't go astray:

First check: Are you really connected to this router's WiFi
This is the most frequent misunderstanding; two out of three times I've seen it was it. Nowadays, WiFi names are very similar. My phone automatically connects to the stronger signal — it's connected to someone else's network, so of course it can't access my backend.

Only the WiFi connected to this router is resolved by the router's own DNS to 192.168.31.1. Second Lookup: Address Input and Browser Issues

Then there are grudges over the address bar and search box. Now, the browser's address bar also functions as a search. If the IP you enter contains a space or the input method inserts a word, it treats it as a search term and returns a bunch of search results. Honestly type the complete http://192.168.31.1 with the HTTP header, not a single character too long.

31.1 is not made of iron; the gateway is the real deal
the first two steps are blocked and still can't be opened, then most likely the address 31.1 itself has changed. Xiaomi routers can "transform" in three situations when managing IPs:
first is the wireless relay mode. The old router was changed to a relay to supplement the kitchen's signal. After the change, it no longer acts as the person sending the IP. second, either you or your PC installer have modified the LAN port IP. Some people, to avoid conflicts with the fiber modem's network segment, change their router to 31.2 or even another segment, but after two months forget and still use 31.1 to enter. third, when used as an AP (wired relay), the principle is the same as for relays, but IP is managed by the superior level.
quick to check: On your phone, go to the WiFi detail page and see the 'Gateway' or 'Router' section. Open the command line on your computer and enter ipconfig to see 'Default Gateway.' can't do it, it's finally reset
to this point, it's basically because the router configuration is messed up or the system is malfunctioning. The SIM pin presses against the reset port for more than 5 seconds, the light turns orange, and you release your hand, and the device returns to factory settings. details about factory reset and the order of rebinding have been written here. Here, I only remind you of the cost: broadband account, WiFi name and password, and all custom settings are gone. After resetting, you need to reset the dial-up settings. If you can't access the internet after reset take a look in advance to make sure you know what to do.

the overall order: turn off the data, confirm connection to WiFi →, send all http://192.168.31.1 →, check if the gateway address changes, → try direct network cable connection, → power off and restart → Mijia App first, → If necessary, reset.
