An old 2016 laptop connected to a Xiaomi router with a matching password would mean the cycle timed out, and it would drop after ten minutes of connection. Go to WiFi 31.1 in the WiFi settings and select WiFi 5 compatibility mode. The moment you save, the whole family disconnects and reconnects, and you can reconnect in one go.
