TP-LINK MESH Networking Strange Problem: WAN port shows no network cable, but can I access the Internet normally?

tell you something, has anyone encountered a strange situation after using TP-LINK routers for MESH networking? Even though all devices can access the Internet normally, whether they log in to the APP or the web management background, it will display "No network cable connection at the WAN port". I encountered this problem before, and I was quite panicked at first, but later I found that I didn't have to worry about it at all, and it was useless to restart, probably a small bug in the router.

TP-LINK MESH Networking Strange Problem: WAN port shows no network cable, but can I access the Internet normally?

the reason is simple, it is because I turned off the DHCP server of the TP-LINK router. Why should it be closed? Because in addition to the optical cat, my family also connected to the switch (or soft router), and I wanted the switch/soft router to be responsible for assigning IP addresses to the devices at home, so I turned off the DHCP of the router.
to popularize the DHCP server with you: it is like an "IP assigner", which can automatically assign necessary network parameters such as IP addresses and subnet masks to devices connected to the LAN (such as mobile phones and computers). The TP-LINK router's DHCP has three states: on, off, and automatic. If you choose "Automatic", if the router has the WDS function turned on, it will automatically detect whether there are other DHCP servers in the local area network, and if there is, it will turn off itself to avoid conflicts~
So when you encounter this situation of "WAN port has no network cable connection but can access the Internet", first think about whether you have turned off DHCP, if so, don't worry about that prompt, it won't affect the use!

It is a common bug that the WAN port shows no network cable after DHCP is turned off, which does not affect the actual networking, but it is easy to mistake it for a fault. It is recommended to check the settings to see if they conflict with other devices to avoid unnecessary panic.

This prompt is indeed quite pitfall, after turning off DHCP, the WAN port shows no network cable, but the actual network is fine, which makes people mistakenly think that the network is disconnected, but the system cannot detect DHCP conflicts.

After turning off DHCP, the WAN port shows no network cable, but the device can still access the Internet, which is actually not affected, so don't worry too much. It may be a small bug in the router, but it is functional.

When TP-LINK MESH is networked, there is no network cable on the WAN port but the Internet can be accessed, but it is actually just a display problem caused by DHCP down, which does not affect the actual use, so there is no need to worry too much.

This prompt is quite misleading, although you can access the Internet after turning off DHCP, but the management interface shows that there is no network cable at the WAN port, which is actually just a problem with the system detection mechanism, which does not affect the actual use, so don't worry too much.

It is a common bug that the WAN port shows no network cable after DHCP is turned off, which does not affect the actual networking, but it is easy to mistake it for a fault. If the restart is invalid, you need to check whether the network structure is reasonable and avoid repeated configurations.

It is normal for the WAN port to display no network cable after DHCP is turned off, and it does not affect the networking. This situation is common in multi-route networking, as long as the IP allocation does not conflict.

After turning off DHCP, the WAN port shows no network cable, but the device can still be connected to the network normally, which is really a confusing bug. However, after following the tutorial, it was found that it did not affect the use, which also solved a problem.

This prompt is really confusing, but it's really just a matter of setting it up. After turning off DHCP, although it shows no network cable, the network is still normal, as long as other devices can allocate IPs, don't worry too much.
