first understand: why does IPTV cut off its supply as soon as the bridge is changed
many people think that switching to bridge is just "moving dial-up from the optical modem to the router," but in fact, what you're running in the background is the entire WAN connection table. The telecom optical modem usually has several WAN connections. I took apart my ZTE F7015T at home and checked: 1_INTERNET_R_VID_41 is for internet, 2_OTHER_R_VID_45 is for IPTV, and there's also a 3_VOIP landline. The tutorial tells you to "delete the INTERNET connection and create a new bridge." The problem lies here—IPTV the OTHER connection depends on the optical modem's routing mode to work. If you change the internet connection to a bridge, some firmware will also disrupt the forwarding logic of the OTHER connection, making the IPTV port no longer usable for program streaming.
set-top boxes also show two types of behavior. I compared the situations of three families (my family + two relatives): one was stuck at startup logo, with the progress bar spinning halfway, and the verification couldn't be obtained; Another type is when can enter the channel list but every channel has a black screen , and after a few seconds it shows "No Signal" or an error code. second blunder: the cache of the set-top box itself. unplug the set-top box's power supply, wait thirty seconds before plugging it in—not mystical or mystical — is it cached or outdated authentication info? Tip 2: Super password goes to the optical modem backend to check if the OTHER connection is still there
This move is the core. Use telecomadmin super password to enter the 192.168.2.1 backend (I wrote about the password in the super password article, 10000 reporting the phrase "installed your own router needs port forwarding"; tested to get it), go to the "Status" → "WAN Connection" or "Network" → "WAN" menu (different firmware names vary; Huawei's is near "System Tools," ZTE's is under "Network"). under the tag).

look at: Besides the newly created bridge INTERNET connection you created, are there any other connection with OTHER or IPTV labels and a Route mode? That night, I checked and saw that the OTHER link was still there, but the bound port list was empty—the bridge operation had lost the bound port, the program stream had no exit, and of course the TV screen went black. Modification: Edit this OTHER connection, keep the VLAN untouched (mine is 45, but in Guangdong Telecom commonly use 43 or 45, varies by province), check the bound port back to port 3, and save. The optical modem would restart WAN. After two minutes, most of the screen on my TV had returned—the entire channel list was showing.
if the OTHER link in the list doesn't exist at all (deleted by you or the tutorial), you have to manually create a new one: select Route for mode, keep the type as usual, enter the original copy for VLAN, and bind to the IPTV port. Here's a pitfall: if you choose 'service type' when is newly built, always choose IPTV or OTHER, not INTERNET. If you choose the wrong one, you'll end up with another internet connection, the TV will still be black, and it will still take up a VLAN.
Third trick: Even if the list is present, the screen still goes black. Check the multicast VLANs and routers
channel list can enter but the screen is completely black, it means the authentication is successful and the multicast stream has not arrived. My mother-in-law's family got stuck at this point, and after another hour, we checked both places one by one:

Multicast stream must pass from the optical modem through the router to the set-top box. Some routers default to losing multicast (IGMP Snooping is off, or if enabled, packets are lost; the two brands behave in opposite ways). My mother-in-law's old TP-LINK switched the "IGMP Snooping" from on to off, and the screen immediately appeared—just that strange. For router background settings, usually find this switch in the "LAN settings" or "multicast settings" and try turning it in the opposite direction.
Another issue is the set-top box is connected in the wrong position. After switching to bridge, the most stable way is to plug the set-top box directly into the optical modem's IPTV port (network port 3), without going through the router. If wiring at home really can't get through, use a VLAN-supporting switch to send the IPTV VLAN separately to the set-top box. really can't be saved: it's not shameful to go back, but don't change it all back
I tried all three routes, and in the end, my home status was: broadband using a bridge, IPTV connected via the second OTHER cable and the optical modem route. Both sides coexisted peacefully for over half a year. But my uncle's old Huawei never gets up no matter how much I fix the OTHER connection (the firmware is too old, and conflicts arise when issued by ITMS). The final choice was to the whole system to routing mode, the router back to AP mode and connect to the LAN port, lose a bit of speed, and watch the TV for now. My advice is the same as back then: if you have elderly people watching TV every day, don't fuss over internet speeds until midnight.
