TP-Link cannot access the Internet after a failed firmware update

1. Hard Reset Recovery

Steps:
  1. locate the RESET hole on the back of the router
  2. press and hold the RESET key with a toothpick for 5 seconds until all the lights flash
  3. wait for the router to restart (about 2 minutes)
  4. reconfigure the router with 192.168.0.1

2. TFTP forces firmware flashing

Preparation:
  • download the official firmware for the corresponding model (TP-Link official website)
  • Set a static IP
    computer: 192.168.0.100
Steps:
  1. press and hold the RESET button while powering on for 10 seconds
  2. open the TFTP tool and enter the router IP (192.168.0.1)
  3. select the downloaded firmware file and click "Upload"
  4. wait for the progress bar to complete and the router will automatically restart

3. Contact official support

If the above methods are invalid, you can contact TP-Link customer service to apply for a rework

Notes:
  • always keep the power stable when updating firmware
  • only use firmware downloaded from official channels
  • Back up router configuration before
    operation
