It's not that I searched wrong; the firmware of the optical modem and the router are completely different rules. After a week of trying every possible path, I figured out the tricks of the matter.

Before

make a move, make sure to check your current version number

If the version is outdated, a targeted push will be triggered, effective that night or early morning the next day; If the version is too old to be fixed, they will assign you an order. The technician will come to replace it directly with a new Tianyi gateway. The equipment is the carrier's asset, so replacement costs free.

I reported a 2.4G disconnection that time. The customer service backend checked and said my version was two major versions behind and registered me. After hanging up, it was a little after eleven that night, and the optical modem restarted itself—got up in the early morning to drink water and glanced casually, and the version number had really changed.

Road 3: Unified promotion in other areas. The firmware rollout is the same mechanism, and after this push, things quiet down. This is the easiest but also the most passive—you never know when your turn will come.

Don't skip any of the three things you need to do before

upgrade

the first item, copy the WAN connection table. Especially those that have been revised and bridged should be copied. After upgrading the optical modem, custom configurations may be reset back to the standard template. The links you deleted are restored, or the bridges you modified are gone—both are possible. Go to the backend and copy down the name, VLAN ID, and bound port of every WAN connection, or simply take a screenshot and save it to your phone. Don't just write it down in your phone's notes; write a note and stick it on the inside of the weak current box door—only when your phone has no internet will you remember how good that piece of paper is.

the third item: pick the right time. During the upgrade process, the optical modem needs to restart for five to ten minutes, the whole family is disconnected, and IoT devices like cameras and speakers may all disconnect and reconnect.
